One of my New Year’s resolutions was to get back to my love of fashion, both on the blog and on my sewing machine. I am planning to attempt to return to my college major, which was fashion design. A few weeks ago, I received a call from my friend Mary of Curly Byrdie Chirps. (We just featured her a few days ago here on The Haute Life.) Mary called to invite me to collaborate every month with the “Fab 40’s.” This is a really cool group of amazing international bloggers, where each creates their individual interpretation of a theme. I was excited by the idea of meeting other fashionista’s from around the world and also reconnecting with Mary, plus this fit right in with my resolution. So, I decided to take on the challenge! This month’s theme was Leather and Lace.

Lace is one of my favorite fabrics and the designer For Love & Lemons carries the most beautiful lace pieces, that to me embody their motto, Confidence and Femininity. In my outfit for this theme, I wore my For Love & Lemons top.

The leather piece was more of a challenge, Jessica and I touched on wearing crop tops over 40 in a post last year. For me and my body type, I will only wear a crop top if it is paired with a high-waisted bottom. I have searched over the last year for a high-waisted leather skirt and am still coming up short!

So, for this theme, I paired my lace top with my Rachel by Rachel Roy high-waisted pants and pulled in the leather theme with black pumps by nine west and a black leather clutch by Brahmin.

who wants to take me to dinner now? lol!

Please welcome my new fashion friends the Fabulous ladies of FAB 40!

It was wonderful to be introduced to you and your blog, Kim! Thanks so much for joining our group this month. I truly enjoyed your take on this month’s theme, especially your gorgeous lace top! You wear it well.

Kimberly—what a fabulous interpretation of the theme this month!!
I love seeing how different women style the same idea!!

Thank you for joining us for a month of leather and lace Kimberly. I love that you wore a crop top! Rock on!! Like you, I only pair my crop tops with high waisted bottoms. I have a high waisted (p)leather Zara skirt that doesn’t fit me. I wonder if I should pass it on to you. It’s just sitting over here in Hong Kong in a box. Email me if you want it–and I am not kidding!

It’s been a real pleasure getting to know you through The Fab 40s!

Love, Ann from Kremb de la Kremb
